Hipsters

When it comes to hipsters I respect what they do because this day in age everyone try to dress the same fashion as every one, so being a hipsters separate them from others so that their in they own lane and do not have to worry about looking or feeling the same as other people. I think I sort of fit in that category of hipster and cool hunter because I'm always thinking outside the box to be different that's the way I have been since I was born but mostly on how I dress. But some people are not creative and brave enough to go outside of the box and do something different but rather be like someone else that's something I do not get these days.

Breaking Bad Series

When we first started talking about Breaking Bad in class I was already addicted to it but just was to scared to join the discussion about it. During the summer time me and some of my teammates was here taking classes and we was so bored we started watching all kinds of movies and shows on Netflix. So some how we came across Breaking Bad and we started off with season 1 episode 1 and since that we got addicted and from that day we all would watch it after class and basketball workouts everyday. I mean we were so addicted we would watch episodes until about 4 in the morning. Breaking Bad is one of the best show series I have seen most of the episodes where interesting to watch, I think there was only a couple episodes I did not really care for. As the show went on I like how Walt became the bad guy but at some points Walt made me mad so I wanted him to get caught I do not know why just wanted him to. But the fact that Walt was willing to risk selling meth to make sure his family was ok showed how much he cared and loved his family. Then when his wife found out she took by him will doing it and understood he reason for doing it. So after the first couple seasons of Breaking Bad, I'm ready to see what the new seasons are going to consist of should be interesting cant wait.

College Eating Lifestyle

My first two years of college I had a swipe so I got three meals a day breakfast, lunch, and dinner. So therefore I did not have to eat out as much. But soon as I moved off campus that changed tremendously because how busy I be with basketball and school. So when I get home it be late and I do not feel like cooking so I go get fast food because its quicker. After while eating fast food start adding up and takes alot of money away. But I soon realize that fast food is not good for me because I play basketball and its not healthy food for my body and also it takes a toll on my money. So now I have a budget when I go shopping, I shop for nice healthy meals that is good for my body and helps me with my nutrition with basketball. So I notice by going grocery shopping instead of eating out is much cheaper. I think this really something college students should take notice of because college students are more affected by this than anyone. So after watching the film in class I'm glad that I changed my eating habits because it has worked out for the better so I encourage everyone to take notice not just college students.

Twitter

I think twitter is the best social networking site out because it gives you freedom to be yourself and talk about anything with the people that you want to follow you. I get on twitter every single, it have not been one day that I did not get on twitter. Using twitter you can find out some much information and news than you would any where else. You can look up about any hash-tag and find out whats going on about that certain subject. When I first created my twitter account I did not tweet that much because I did not know what to tweet about but as I watch the people I follow and friends tweet I got comfortable tweeting a lot of things. Twitter keeps me up to date on high school sports back in my hometown, NBA, college sports, and news that going on in the hip-hop world. Twitter also keeps me in touch with long distance friends, high school friend, and family. I think it is helpful for everyone to have twitter this day and age because it can help you network and create opportunities. So I encourage anyone that does not have a Twitter account to get one, that does not mean you have to tweet everyday all the time I think just having one and tweeting every now and then is very helpful in today society.

Video Games

In todays world video games plays a big role somewhat like social media does.Years back there was not my video game fanatic like they are today. For example when I was younger all me my friends and cousins did was go out side to the playground or play basketball. Do not get me wrong we did play video games 5-10 percent of the time but our main focus was going outside first. But as I got older I became more of a gamer because of the video system and how the graphic of the games was based of real life. And that how I became a gamer because before then it was hard for me to sit still and play the game because I got bored fast. But now I have little cousins keeping up to date with video games more than me and actually some of them are better than me in some games because thats all young kids/teenagers want to do. By making video games so realistic now attracts people to buy them more and play them 24/7. I would consider myself as a part time gamer because I can stop playing and do other things but for some people it is really hard for them to stop playing games because of several reason I think are it probably puts them at freedom when they playing the game and maybe it helps them in their everyday life. But video games are definitely taking over the our society just life social media.

Male/Females in Sports

Most men think that women are not physically or mentally tough to play sports. males and females are not different from each other because most sports that are offered for men is offered for women except football. I do not necessarily agree with sports as I use to sometime back but as I got older I realized women sports are just interesting as men male sports.  The only sports I used to realize women should not play was basketball because as everyone know it is a physical sport where people show lots of emotion. Most people think it is not entertaining because females cannot dunk or not as physical as men. But as I watched women basketball more it is pretty fun to watch you just cannot expect to get what you get out of men's basketball the same as women. Of course its going to be different but its still fun to watch because basketball is a fun sport and as long as women compete while playing any sport it should be fun watching them.

According to this article girls are just as athletic as boys:
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/05/31/girls-are-as-athletic-as-boys_n_1559917.html

Girls hear that boys are "naturally" stronger and faster all the time -- and it's the premise for sex-specific sports leagues starting from very young ages. But a new study reveals that the claim is actually based on a false construct: boys don't begin to generally outperform girls until puberty.
And that means that girls and boys can be well-matched rivals in many sports -- including swimming, which was the subject of research in the recent study. Researchers from Indiana University analyzed data from more than 1.9 million swim meets, registered with the organizaton USA Swimming. The meets they studied, all 50-yard freestyle events, included both boys and girls between the ages of six and 19, broken up into age groups. They found no gender difference in the performance of six to eight-year-olds and a negligible difference between 11 and 12-year-old boys and girls. Around puberty -- ages 13 to 16 -- the accelerated growth and muscle development of many boys meant they began to surpass the performance of female counterparts.

Social Media

Social Media is huge part of our live in todays world. Social media gives people a chance to be themselves behind close doors which mean they feel comfortable of being themselves throught social media insetad of in public. I think social media is a great thing in todays world because it gives people another outlet to communicate with people, also keep in contact with peolpe you havent seen in long periods of time. Most of all it gives people freedom on what they feel comfortable saying on the internet. Social media can lead into some bad things such as catfish and getting into altercations with people but thats just the perks of being on social networking sites. Some people can take social networking to another level because what a person do on social media sites they will not do in real life but thats the way some people are so sometimes you have to let people be them. Also some people can make social media their priorities because that maybe is their outlet in life and where they get their most freedom but at the end of the day you cannot let social media determine who you are and how you live your life.

Ellen DeGeneres

After all this time watching the Ellen show I'm just now finding out that she was gay when we talked about it in class. I never really payed attention to her in that way. I like her show and how she conducts it and how popular her show is I do not think people judge her on being gay especially her guests because she has alot of celebrities that comes on her shows and they do not tend to have a problem with what her sexual beliefs are. I do not think many people judge women on being gay as people do men. For example I think if a gay male was a tv host most straight men will not attend that show because they will feel that their manhood would be in danger. Even though people should be treated with equal rights if they are gay or straight I just think people take men being gay more serious than women being gay. I know I use to be that way but as I got older I learned that you have to respect people for who they are. Soon I found out about Ellen being gay I still look her as the same person I seen her before which is a intelligent women that runs a great talk show that many people throughout the word loves.

TV

Growing up I always watched TV because of the sport basketball so I was glued to the TV watching NBA and college games. I never really was interested into other tv shows until I got to highschool. Since then I have been watching shows such as Law and Order, CSI Miami, Cooking Channel, and movies. I watch the cooking channel because growing up I always watched my grandma cook and I also like to cook so I get a kick out of watching it. Watching law and order and CSI Miami is probably my favorite two shows I can literally watch them all day every day. After basketball practice or school work I instantly go watch these shows and if it some episodes I miss will I'm busy I record them so when I get home I can watch them. On my off days from basketball I just lay up and watch tv all day. Before watching these shows and TV alot I never will watch tv because I could not sit still for a long period of time but every since I found tv shows that match my personality or something that I very interested in I can sit down and watch television. I really watch shows that are positive or something I cannot learn bad habits from. By me watching more tv it has prevented me from being bored as I usually would and I also have learn some things from watching television that I can use in real life situations.
