Everyone Just Stay Calm

I find it disturbing that mass shooting have become a normal part of life, but I find it even more disturbing that we keep inventing excuses for these atrocities. Mental illness is the media buzz word of the day, I'm not saying it's not real-- that preposterous. I'm just saying there may be other factors playing into mass mania, outside of dormant psychosis. But then maybe asking that question is weird. Maybe we need these people to be evil or crazy, because the thought of a sane person just snapping terrifies us. I admit I have wondered what drove a seemingly well-adjusted college student with mild depression to walk into a movie theater dressed like the joker and go full on bat shit crazy. The fact that he dressed like the joker at a bat man movie suggests a glimmer of rationale thought, and maybe planning. I don't know a lot of crazy people but something tells me they aren't big planners. Are these psychotic breaks somehow linked to the desocialization of our society, to a life driven by the incessant need to earn and consume, but no real purpose outside of our material realities. I finally understand how hamsters feel. You sit in a box all day staring at the walls, and suddenly, running on a wheel might feel like a welcomed distraction. We live our lives on a track from birth till death. You’re born, you play for 4 years, work for the next 65, travel for 10 or so if you’re lucky, and then make plan for your departure. That is what flashes before your eyes before you die, and at that moment you may wonder: did I ever take the time to stop and exam my life. We don’t have time to exam our lives because we’re too busy fulfilling a social contract we never agreed to, a contract that was unilaterally created by one group in society, yet applies to us all. We spend our live searching for purpose, yet how will we define our purpose when we’re living in some other guys reality. History is a known fabrication full of holes and distortion, yet we accept it as trues. We fill our minds with lies our teacher tell and call it educations. What I love about communication is it gives you the tools to crack the codes. Unfortnately the few morsels of knowledge tossed our way are watered down messages with ambiguous intent lest we succumb to there potency, and fall victim to an original thought. God Forbid.
