Ellen

About a week ago we talked about Ellen and if she came off as liberating or constraining to individuals that watch her show, and her being visible in media.  I think Ellen is very liberating through media because she is not afraid to express who is she is.  Also, she does it in a way that is not overbearing and in a way that doesn’t make anyone feel uncomfortable.  I believe she is a great role model for people who believe their sexual orientation will get in the way of their career or business.  I believe this because so many people live their lives unhappy, and aren’t really “living” their life, because they are looking for the acceptance of others, or they are too afraid of “ coming out”.  Ellen is herself regardless and because of her beautiful and silly personality she attracts people to her regardless of sexual orientation.  I just love Ellen and everything she stands for because she is very strong and has broken many barriers in the media world.  I’m sure back in time, people would have never guessed there would be a talk show hosted by a lesbian and it actually be successful.  For that I think she is very liberating for individuals who are afraid of acceptance or afraid they will lose their friends for being who they are.  I am all about living life to the fullest and being happy with the person you are because no one else can do that for you.
