Hipsters

Why do people hate hipsters? My answer would be because hipsters are different. They do what they want to do, when they want to do it. They wear what they want to wear, when they want to wear it. It does not matter what other people think because they are doing things for themselves and no one else. So, shouldn’t we be admiring them for their bravery to step outside of the norm and their courage to be different from everyone else? I think yes. However, that is the exact reason as to why everyone else hates hipsters. It is almost because these self proclaimed “hipster haters” are jealous. They are jealous that they were not clever enough to think to do what the hipsters were already doing. When you ask a hipster if they like a certain song that you just heard and their response is, “oh, I heard that last month. I’m over it now.” You get pissed because you feel stupid. Like, of course you are not cool enough to have already heard the song and be over it faster than the rest. That is exactly why I think people hate them. They are also jealous that hipsters can think outside the box and be creative and brave enough to be able to pull off the hipster look. Everyone secretly wishes they could do it. It takes skill to be a hipster. It’s not easy being ahead of the game, in fact. Hipsters are the very type of people I would try to find if I were a “cool hunter”. And that makes people jealous.
