The Reality of Reality Tv
When you think of reality Tv do you think it's real or fake? Do you have a favorite show? The definition of reality TV is a show where REAL people are recorded in REAL situations in their REAL day to day activities. Notice how many times the word real was used? Well for our group project we decided to take a deeper look into reality TV and see if it is in fact REAL. What we discovered wasn't much of a surprise . Most of these reality TV shows are actually pretty fake. Don't get me wrong , there are definitely parts that are real but for the most part the director detemines what actually goes on. The director usually picks the locations and puts reality TV stars into situations they normally wouldn't be in . If the person in the show doesn't say or do what the director is looking for then often they will do a re-take and have them do it differently . One reason I know this is because my cousin is from Anderson which happens to be the same place where Amber off of teen mom is from. My cousin told me a story about when they were in taco bell and Amber was being filmed for teen mom. He told me the director told Amber and Gary to discuss certain topics and even made them start over because they didn't act angry enough? So I guess in actuality reality TV is just simply what directors think we as viewers would like to see. So in conclusion reality TV isn't REAL like it's definition. It is in fact FAKE.
