COMM 322: Final Project: The Effect of Video Games and Women in the Military

From the reading WII Shall Over Come woman have not been thought of as the gamer, super hero and or the villain its just an insan to even look at erh. Sky High shows how men have the male view of the world that no women can do what a man can. In the movie Mary Winstead plays a High school senor who has everything going for her smart, popular, and of cores beautiful. There is two times during the movie a male character look at her with confused faces, not thinking that she could be the villain. I really like this for the reason that it breaks down the "rule" that girls can not be power full with out giving up who they are or becoming to manly. They do a great job keeping her in both ways having power over a boy being the smartest girl in school then turning out to be the main bad guy both times in this movie. Breaking down the rules and how people think one step or female villain at a time.

Farmers

A lot of the reading material and talks in class on how our food is made some what pointed the blame on the framers. I am writing this to try and change your mind on that. I come from a farming family where one of my uncles owns a hog farm and another cattle farmer and both harvest crops. Everyone works together to get the job done.

Crops: The movie that we watched in class it showed how framers are being forced how of growing their own crops and can only grow the big seed companies seeds. This is truly happening for the soul fact that after one person buys the genetically engineered crops plants them if the framer next to them plants the same crop both fields will cross pollination and after that has happened the company can sue the framer next door and make them only buy, plant, and grow their seeds until everyone has no choose but to follow. Now on the other side the genetically engineered crops brings a lot of good. The U.S. has been able to feed the world over with the fact the crops can grow bigger, bear more fruit or crops. With out this many people would die of hunger.

Meat: Yes we have genetically engineered animals to grow lager faster, but its all on us as the consumer farmers have just been trying to meet the demand. If we wish to change this we need to have better health codes that have to be enforced.

So to sum up its not the farmers fault the people demand has made them change how they do their jobs. Yes their has been good to come out of it but it does not out way all the negative that needs to be fixed. Know where your food comes from, buying from your local butcher/ farmer markets, and demanding that the government cleans up their act and gives power back to the people who are suppose to protect us.

  Alright so this past weekend I watch Bad Grandpa staring Johnny Knoxville and co. starting Jackson Nicoll its a story about a Grandpa(Knoxville) and his grandson(Nicoll) travailing to get Nicoll to his farther, along the way they get into some fun trouble. One of their skits that they do is having Nicoll dress up as a girl and join in a little girl beauty contest. The start of a culture jamming skit.

 During the contest no body know that he's a boy but the actors and the camera crew. At one point they are interviewing another girl and her mom about what they think so far and the mother says that she,"Thinks it is quit odd, weird, unusual that he was here with his granddaughter." what the mother shows here is that its a "women's club" and that he was not welcome to be there.  The culture jamming of this is during the talent part of the contest. Nicoll walks out on the stage in a sailors costum starting to do a dance. Until the song cuts out to Sweet Carry Pie see image.

Nicoll rips off the sailor dress to lingerie that he is wearing under it and starts to pole dance around the stage doing some very inappropriate/ adult themed dance moves. Knoxville also helps out by "making it rain" with money. Every one in the audience is just watching in pure shock not knowing what to do, until the end when Knoxville throws water on Nicoll causing Nicoll wig to fall off showing that he is a boy. The reason that I think this is culture jamming is it was showing how sexuallized theses contest can be. Yes they took it to the extreme but they brought the entire contest to a stop. I am in hope that this skit will show people that these contest have gone to fare in having little girls wear and do things at a young age that could harm them in their future life as they develop.
