Sport in American culture

I felt like the video explained to me some very important aspects of American culture that I didn’t really see.  I was dumbfounded at some of the statistics that were presented. In the video there was a stat NFL players have an average life span that is twenty years less than normal people. I feel like there is a tradeoff to their decision. They get paid a good  amount of money, so they go into it willingly.
The use of sport in our culture has played a huge amount on how we grow culturally , politically, socially and our economy. Since the age of ancient Rome, politics has played a huge role, Caesar gave the final decision on the life of the gladiators. Sports in general give us a huge social advantage. We have things to talk about, its become a common thing were pretty much everyone has played or had experience the sport you wish to talk about. Football teams are worth millions of dollars in our economy, even the Buccaneers, all of the lucrative contracts for TV rights produce big bucks. In my opinion sports will always play a huge part in our culture.
