Girls Vs. Boys in sports

Boys think that girls cannot play sports. That is a false statement because girls can play sports just as good as boys can. Boys think girls cannot play sports because girls are to feminine but just because a girl is feminine does not mean she is not going to be good at the sport she plays. Girls have equal rights to sports as men do. A lot of the male sports have female sports that are just the same for instance boys play baseball, girls play softball. Boys and girls both play basketball, track, tennis, soccer, volleyball, bowling, cross country and many more. Its not fair that girls do not get credited as much for winning games or anything in that matter. Men get more of an acknowledgement then women do. If you were to look at a ESPN Sports magazine you can notice that on the front cover they are all men, from different sports, to winning medals, or even championship games. The only women who have been on the front cover are hooters girls, Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders or any women who show sexuality. This is because men like that stuff so they are going to buy that issue and read about it or just to have it. It is just not fair that women do their best at what they do but do not get recognized for it. Women should be recognized for what they do because they put just as much dedication and effort as men do into the sport they play.

Gamers

In today's society more people are playing video games. When most of us were kids all we had was the outdoors, we did not have the technology like we do now and games like we do now. People play video games to leave reality. People who play video games tend to think that are not as worth or important in the real world then they do in the gamers world. People do not notice how much they play video games until they are noticed a decline in their social life. Video games tend to ruin peoples lives in the fact that they can lose friends, notice a decline in school work or even relationships with family members.
Some people who pay video games call themselves gamers but a true gamer is someone who plays video games 24/7. They have trouble leaving they gaming world and coming back to reality. So when gamers hear people like girls or even some guys call themselves gamers they tend to get mad and angry because they are not really gamers they are just ordinary people who play video games every once in a while. A lot of the times people who play video games constantly tend to make the real world like the game. So for instance a lot of video games can help people solve problems. So "Call of Duty" can help people understand what war is like and could also help those going into war to realize and understand what they are getting themselves into, or even how to protect yourself and hid from the enemy. Gaming is slowly taken over our society and the industry is expanding extremely.

Duck Dynasty vs. Honey Boo-Boo

Duck Dynasty is a reality T.V show that shows the lives of the Robertson family who live in Louisiana and became wealthy from a family –operated business. They Make Duck Commanders also know as ‘duck calls’. Honey Boo-Boo is also another reality T.V shows that emphasizes on a little girl who is a contestant in beauty pageants and how her and her family acts, Honey Boo-boo takes place down in Georgia. These two reality shows have a lot of characteristics in common and they are two completely different shows. Some similarities between these shows are they was they talk.  Both shows come from the south, Louisiana and Georgia. Since both come from down south they both have the same accent and talk the same. Also outfits, activity and gross things are more things that are common.  The Robertson’s and the family in Honey Boo-Boo wear cloths that make them look run down so it looks like they don’t have a lot of money. They do a lot of things outside, so in Ducky Dynasty they make duck calls that are used when duck hunting, so they are outside a lot doing different things with ducks. In Honey Boo-Boo they family lives in a small town in the middle of no where so to have fun and not get bored they do a lot of activities outside. In an episode we watched in class it showed in Honey Boo-Boo that they were telling their sister her feet smell. The girls kept going on about how her feet smell. That’s something you normally would not see from girls our age. Duck dynasty it’s a bunch of guys so saying your feet smell if pretty normal. They talk about farts, burps, and so on. These are some things that Duck Dynasty and Honey Boo-Boo have in common and these shows are about completely different families and how they live.

Culture of Food

There are many ways we are shown to food. First off its what we eat so that we can survive but social media plays a big part in food obsession. Everyone uses social media and watches T.V. There are a lot of T.V stations that show cooking shows. Theres the Food Network, Cooking Channel, Bravo, ETC. Everyday we are exposed to some sort of food on social medias. Food obsession has become more known with teenagers. Teens tend to document what they eat and post it so everyone can see it. Instagram is a big photo media that is used when posting pictures. It is a site that you can post a picture change the coloring and everyone can see it.  Other medias such as Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr are also big medias that food experiences are documented.  In the 70s a movement was started to make food affordable. They made food affordable because people can only afford fast and cheap food. This lead to the Cycle which is the invent of fast food and cheap food has lead to a decline in family incomes so all we can afford is fast and cheap food. Having this in place has made fast food companies increase because people are now going and getting food because its cheap and they are just lazy and will not go out and get food to make because it takes to much time. The amount of money you spend on fast food is the same you can spend on going to the store and getting health food to make for your self. Going to the store is a lot better then putting bad food in your mouth. 

In class today we watched a video on a commercial of Taco Bell. They took pictures that other people have posted and made a collage. This type of commercial makes people want to go eat Taco Bell because they see that other people are enjoying the food and that makes others want to go there. This shows that social media has a big influence on society because they see a commercial that catches there eye and then they want to go there because it looks fun, enjoyable, delicious, ETC. 

Why do people hate hipsters

Hipsters are a great part of our population today. A lot of people are becoming hipsters by the way they dress. Hipsters dress in skinny jeans, low v-neck t-shirts, they wear ray-bands and also have tattoos. A lot of people today hate on hipsters because they say that they are annoying or they way the dress is just not normal. But we can all say there is one outfit of ours that we wear that can be related into the hipster genre. people who are hipsters do not care what others think of them because they are living their lives the way they want to live it. SO the way they dress defines who they are. Also a lot of hipster people play guitar or sing and sometimes they ride skateboards or longboards. The genre "hipster" is very popular these days and a lot of people are changing over to hipster and its wrong for people to hate on them because they do not hate on others so why should they be hated on.

A T.V show that demonstrates the genre of Hipster would be New Girl. New Girl is a serious based on a girl named Jesse who is a teacher and broke up with her boyfriend and moves in with three guys she meet from an Ad. Jesse plays a great role in demonstrating hipster. She drives an old car she dresses to act like a kid or just an everyday outfit of a hipster. Everything she wears is very retro. She plays the guitar and loves to sing. this shows is a great way to know what a hipster really looks like.
