War With Media

I sit down in the library on this chilly October morning, open up my book and begin to read this article created by John W. Jordan. As i read on to what seemed to be an interesting piece my mid becomes stale as the information i am reading just fall off my interest. I don't actually know the direct root to my dislike of this article but my guess is that ive always had a hard time finding the rhetorical view of something just does not appeal to me. What i have understood about this article and the last article i read is how the media really impacts the knowledge of war. We had discussed in class how certain branches of military such the army and navy use advertisements at sporting events to advertise themselves, it was said they did this strategically so they are bound to be noticed. I myself would like to point out that the advertisement for military branch has skyrocketed. One of my main points to back that up is the NHRA (National Hot Rod Assosiation) and the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) Ive followed both of these sports for a long long time and recently i began to notice the advertisements. On the NHRA side there are a number of racers and cars that are directly sponsored by the Army, just take a look at Tony Schumacher. On the side of the UFC they are in two big sponsorship's with the Army and Marines. In Most all UFC events the commentators as well as the ring announcer can be heard saying "Brought to you by the Marines" or army. Its little subtle changes like that, that have really put the military in the eye of the public, and when the public sees these advertisements thats when they begin to pay attention. Which is exactly what the military wants, so they can put interest into more Americans tp help with popularity and growth.
